Top Recommendations for January:
Washington's Crossing, by David Hackett Fisher (2006-5766 pp)
The best account going of Washington's daring Christmas night crossing of the Delaware and the battles of Trenton and Princeton that changed the course of the war.
David Fischer’s “Washington’s Crossing” is one of the best military history books that I have read; it is very well written and provides the right level of battlefield detail without getting bogged down. To me, the best history books give you a sense of being “in the moment,” “Washington’s Crossing” did just that.
